Ashok Ferrey is a Sri Lankan best selling English language novelist.
After a degree in Pure Mathematics from Oxford University, he became a builder in London before returning to Sri Lanka, where he began writing at the age of forty-two. He is a guest lecturer at the City School of Architecture and the author of six books – two collections of short stories (Colpetty People, The Good Little Ceylonese Girl), three novels (Serendipity, The Professional, The Ceaseless Chatter of Demons) and a book of essays (Cut Pieces). 'Demons' is the first-ever Sri Lankan novel to be translated and published commercially in France, as L’Incessant Bavardage des Demons. By day, Ferrey is a personal trainer.
