Kumari is a Sri Lankan author, poet, performance artist and an activist. Based on her long-term engagement with the war-affected women in the North and the East of Sri Lanka, she has published three collections of writing: Keti Karapu Diga Katha (Long Stories Shortened), Ureippu Saappadu: No Asu Kan Walata (Spicy food for the Ears that Haven’t Heard) and Genu Katha (Women stories), published in Sinhala newspapers.
